Trying another way to get a photo inserted in my post.

Well, what do you know? It worked! If all else fails…READ the INSTRUCTIONS! Found some info that helps.

What First?

April 7, 2008 at 8:47 am (Garden, General)

What to do first? I’m torn between my Wants & my Have To Do items on My List these days. Still working on: finishing up our tax returns; looking after a sick teen ~both kids have another week of their month-long spring break, bowling tourney coming up with brother; whacking back the jungle; installing linoleum in son’s new closet; catching 1st-time bloomers & installing a new window (in our bedroom this time). We’re also waiting on delivery of a sliding patio door. Prep for that required me chopping down a massive clump of Alpinia zerumbet (Shell Ginger). I left a few standing, but I’ll dig out tubers asap. It was sad to take them out.But eventually, we will build a deck outside this door, so I need to relocate all the plants I have in this area. Yikes! I had to find space to move all my sux that were on a tabletop that we made on our fig tree stump. It started to tilt. I think the stump is rotting. I didn’t want my sux crashing all over. Also had to move all plants outside our bedroom window. What fun!

Boring pix of a really ugly area…but here is the Ginger Whack project (before & after-well, not finished yet). I had whacked it back once already recently. The plant just about covered the whole door then!:

Just about every day–or every other day, you can find me taking pix of my plants & their blooms…among other things, like our remodeling projects. The time it takes to process these is getting out of hand. I no longer give them filenames in a timely manner. It’s getting more difficult just choosing which pix I want to post. Eek! I hope to get a bunch more spring bloomers up very soon.

Haven’t figured out how to get a single pic posted without having it included in the gallery of pix (like above). Oh well-more to learn later!

Back when I’m able! I have to run…yet again! :D I have a bowling club meeting & games after.

Succulents & Bloomers in the Garden

March 18, 2008 at 4:10 pm (Aeonium, Aloe, Cacti & Succulents, Garden)

Hard to choose just a few pix to post, so I’ve tried to get a variety of what’s blooming right now. Well, some are not blooming, but look great! Clicking on one pic should take you to the gallery to see larger views.

I suppose that ‘s enough for now! Have to go cross something off the list!

Trying another way to post pix…didn’t work…so back to what I know. Well, I forgot what all I did yesterday & today my external hard drive does NOT want to cooperate, so maybe later! :)

Back to edit, trying something else!

Bit into my past

Back yard, pool facing NE corner - rainy day

Back yard, pool facing NE corner - rainy day

I started gardening a dozen yrs. ago. We cleared our yard back then, beginning with a clean slate (so to speak), save a few fruit trees my Dad planted many years ago. We installed this pool in ’01. I’ve leaned more toward my cacti & succulent addiction the past couple years, so much of the garden has suffered. Need to get back to basics!
