Woohoo, 2010 has arrived!
Happy New Year, everyone! I acknowledge my life is still “crazy busy” & I will have to find ways to deal with that. Once again, 2 months passed me by without an entry here. The shame of it!
New Year’s Eve I got some nice shots of the Blue Moon (2nd full moon in the month). I think I’ll insert a pic here, as well as the Photo of the Month (changed from “Plant” of the month-as it won’t always be a plant!), since that will be changing & referencing to it will have folks wondering “What photo?”
Had a nice visit with a friend & her hubby (Gay & Scott). I hope to make another post about that. New year’s Day had a sunset (well, I missed the “sun” part of it-but the sky was spectacular) that rivaled other gorgeous ones we’ve seen. Here is a sampling of the dozens of pix I took:
- Cool!
- Island can be seen
- Spectacular!
- Love the ocean color
- Unreal color
- Wow! Magnificent!

Okay, it’s been so long since I’ve made an entry, I’ve already forgotten how to maneuver around to edit the pix & all. Maybe I’ll figure it out in my sleep & come back to fix it!
Till then, the extra moon pic stays! LOL
Latest Changes in our Abode
Just a quick entry, with just a few photos…more to come later on each subject if I’m able…
Hubby built a closet into our son’s room, as we plan to snag his walk-in to add to ours.
Carpet was finally installed this past Monday, after having it estimated a 2nd time. It seems we figured out how they could do it for 15 square yards less! That’s a savings of more than $500.! Unfortunately, we PAID for all that excess the 1st time we had the place carpeted. Live & learn!
So this entry I learned how to get clickable thumbnails in -but need to work on placement. I’ll save that for next time! Now to put every thing back! Unpack all the framed stuff, dust the knickknacks & all that jazz! I’m not looking forward to moving the entertainment center back (heavy) & hooking up all the electronics. :O One thing I know…it WILL look nice when we finally finish! Got to run!
Crazy Busy, the mode of late
My niece used this term about how our lives have been & it seems to fit, unfortunately…”Crazy Busy”! I’m looking forward to a day when I can say it isn’t!
I missed quite a few months here on the blog-no entries for a very LONG time. Back in June, our son graduated from high school, with several other events taking place around the same time.
I went to the Nationals bowling tournament in Las Vegas. I was co-chair for our invitational bowling tourney for my 200 Club in September. I also go to other 200 club’s tourney each month. I got back into the Monday night bowling league & still do secretary/treasurer duties for our Thursday Rollers league.
We have been remodeling in the house, replacing windows…one at a time. Currently, the project is getting new carpet installed in 2 rooms. Hoping that happens this Monday, after experiencing several glitches.
I have been tackling my jungle of a garden, prepping for window installation & just trying to stay on top of it, before it swallows me up!
My dear friend, Al, passed away in August after his last bout with Cancer. That has thrown me for a loop.
Trying to get back on track now.
One son is discovering college for the first time & I still taxi the other son to school. He’s taking drivers’ education now, so a license should be in the next year.
I still take pix of everything & time to process them is limited, so I’m way behind, as you can imagine.
I discovered Facebook, quite by accident, and was learning the ropes there…finding a new way to stay in contact with my family & friends.
I may still make entries about each (or some) of these events, but that will depend on what time I can eke out of the time frame of my regular household schedule. I know…good luck with THAT, you say!
Gotta run…taxi duty!
photo upload
Trying another way to get a photo inserted in my post.
Well, what do you know? It worked! If all else fails…READ the INSTRUCTIONS! Found some info that helps.

Stained glass Dragonfly in my garden
Let’s see what these last 2 look like!
Do I Remember How to Post a Pic?
Not sure how to get the pix in the post. This is different from the way I used to do it. Guess this is a newer version of the program. I know I uploaded a photo to my gallery. Just don’t know how to get it here. Phooey!
Okay! I figured out a way-but it’s not like before, so I have a feeling I’m going to forget the next time I try this. Yikes! I just have to remember to select pix that are already a smaller size or they come out HUGE here.
Note to self: Used the direct link selection from Photobucket for this one & clicked the img button in the html editor.
Switched
Moved my blog-so I had practice at exporting from old blog & importing into this one. Now need to change background & other details. Hope I can find the time! Maybe creating entries will become a habit?!
New theme & still working on the look of the page.
Succulent AND Cacti albums created
I’ve been making good use of my Picasa albums, creating quite a few in recent days, with HUNDREDS of pix…of all the C&S events during the 4-day President’s BD weekend.
If you have some time to kill, get some coffee or other beverage of your choice…and take a gander at the pix:

Agave 'Blue Glow'
*Edit~After drooling on a forum about this beauty, a very generous fellow member sent me a pup! Woohoo! Thanks, Tom!
I don’t know the names of the plants (well, I might know a few), so I hope that doesn’t drive you whacko.
There’s one album of the Botanical Building in Balboa Park too.
Nice Orchids!
Hope you enjoy! I have to get back to my list!
Slideshow…or not :(
Trying out something new…to see if I can embed a slideshow. Whoops…I guess not…or I haven’t figured out how to do it.
Here’s a link instead~you can choose to watch the slideshow or individual pix:

My friend, Al came to visit from DE. One of the places we went was a succulent plant shop in historic Old Town, San Diego, called The Plant Man. Hope you enjoy the pix!
Maybe more plant pix to come in the near future.
Two pix from the album:
